Reign is pretty damn good and much cheaper than nomad
Ultimate bike for the Shore?
the slack trail bikes i've ridden give up surprisingly little in the tight / tech or on climbs. stubby stems seem to mitigate wag. the ability to push the front end more aggressively and weight the bike in a more centered position is more than enough benefit to offset any concerns with tight wiggling / tech climbing. no reason to go any steeper than 65, imo, and i wouldn't be surprised to see racy bikes hit 64 in the near future.
though i've not tried, the reign looks awesome for the $$.
the transition patrol (with similar long / slack geo) certainly kicks all sorts of ass on the shore, and is also great value.

As does Banshee's Rune and Spitfire
I have been spending some time on a spitfire lately and it is a crazy fun bike. I always thought I needed at least 160 mm of travel to have fun on the shore the Spitty is a case where having less travel is a good thing. The bike feels fast on the climbs and very capable on the decents. It is a very lively and responsive bike that is a blast to ride.
Considering the climbing involved an E29 is probably impossible to beat.

It's only cheaper if you ignore resale. Kind like the Toyota Tacoma argument.

^You want to try that again?
Nomad is listed at $9699 CDN
Reign is listed at $7499 CDN
Have fun spending an extra $2200 before taxes then trying to recoup the costs on the used market when the bike industry changes direction more than some people change their chamois;)
Why slag free swag?
ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.
Parts kits will always differ, so stay focused on frames to see the value

Commencal meta am v3 or v4
Commencal meta am v3 or v4
I have the Meta AM V4. Killer bike.
I just picked up a E29, and on the few short rides I've had so far I've seen my strava times drop like flies. It's not not just DH it's not just climbing it's EVERYTHING. This afternoon I cleaned a climbing section i've unsuccessfully tried about 100 times before, and I just took 29 seconds off a short section of dh trail that I've ridden about 500 times in the last few years! I've been riding since 1986, racing (on and off) since 1989 and I have a very clear idea of what it takes to ride well on the shore. This is the best bike you can buy for riding in north vancouver. I've only had this bike for three days and and I'm riding it faster up, down, and across than any other bike I've ever tried. It's not me it's the bike. It makes everything look easy, especially roots, rocks and off camber sections.
Having said all that I think the bike will be much better over all once I have a set of light bicycles on it. The alloy wheels feel a bit flexy.
Let me be clear, this bike gives me a huge boner.
some guys are saying the ibis hd is even better than the e29 - anyone here have thoughts on that?

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

If you're over 6'3" there's no question. The Ibis fit small even in XL.
