Yeah orange is not so good ime. I think stretchier tape (vs stans) will be easier to apply and get to seal, but the air pressure trying to push it into the spoke holes may cause it to fail sooner. Worth a shot though.

Reductimat, I'm assuming you order the 1" or 2" rolls of 4288 from Uline? Then double wrap (for 1") or cut the roll to size first (for 2")? If it works out, it would definitely be the bulk way to go.
1 inch. I think I'll try both a single double wrap and a rim-edge to rim-edge double wrap. That said, my e13 carbon rims are 28mm wide, so I don't have much room to play with.
Spank rim tape. Best tape I have used. I tried TESA and Gorilla tape . And the Spank tape by far works the best.
Anyone tried the gorilla Crystal Clear as a rim tape? It’s got some stretch and seals inflatables well. Probably less messy than regular GT.
My TESA 4288 tape from ULine showed up. 12 rolls for $40, plus $20 for shipping. About the same price as one roll of Stan's from a local store.
I like it better than the thicker stuff as I get more stretch on it. We'll see how it holds up.

Yes, it worked on a fat bike rim for me. But not as stretchy as some other options (without tearing).

Yeah, so that thinner tape I bought is as Cartman would say, "Big fat Oprah tits".
Seriously. 12 rolls from ULine with twenty dollars shipping costs as much as one Stan's roll.
Are you running inserts?
Seems like with how tight the inserts make the bead, rim tape only lasts for one time. Removal of the bead = removal of the tape.

Nope.. so far have lived fine without them... and that includes riding most of blue velvet with a rear flat and other stupidities.
consensus that tesa 4288 (rather than 4289) is the current shit? time to pull the trigger...

Consensus of one :)
WAO is/was using Tessa tape from uline. I should know, I'm the one who sourced it!

Do you know which Tesa tape? I’ve had an interesting time getting tape to stick to my WAO rims, but the stuff that came stock held up quite well.
