thanks Lorien. the handle ended up really sturdy to, its held from moving backward from the recessed bolt, from moving forward by wedging up against the flair in the tang. from moving up or down and side to side along the whole length and from twisting with shims glued in that run the first half of the handle and the handle can still be easily removed with a 4mm allen key. the balance point is about 1cm back from the front of the handle and it came to about 4oz with the scabbard.

^so you rub oil on your tool?
got it.
haha, yeah i always have a can of danish oil lying around for my butcher block workbench so i put some on the knife handle and that hatchet handle. my pick and shovel stay out in the bush so I've never bothered with them but i just broke a shovel so maybe ill try it when i pick up a new one.
only if it's wooden.
remind me to only shake your hand w/ a glove on.
really enjoying using this new knife. the laminated steel is really easy to get and keep a razor sharp edge. the blade has a shallow arc along the main length and with the small radius belly to a fine point its great for carving, and with the custom handle its supper comfortable and i have awesome control in a forward and chest leaver grip. the triangle shape of the handle isn't that great for a backhand grip, but that should only be needed for light tasks like cutting a loop of rope, and im never going to grip-it and rip-it with the cutting edge coming toward me so it shouldn't be a problem.
waterjet cut that shit.
Cool knives . I just picked-up a Fallkniven F1 at Warriors [HTML_REMOVED] Wonders [HTML_REMOVED] a WW2 Japanese bayonet off eBay . Hope I don't get into old bayonets , cause that's going to get expensive . Just don't buy any bayonets from China because they are fakes .
