the 4LED one is $440… 2x what I paid for my HID.
Is there a Vancouver in Taiwan?! I had no idea!!

Here's another option that I just saw at my lbs in Victoria and a quick parking lot test proved impressive.

They are stupid expensive at full retail (probably $900+), but they apparently put out close to 1000 lumen. They appear to be extremely well built like most Hope products and the total system weight is around 450 grams.. not too bad. But the price is off the charts… unless you source them from an internet seller in the UK where there are deals to be had.

True, but it puts out twice as much light.

I don't know about the LEDs being used in that light. Some LEDs only last 100,000 hours… ;)

I know, I know….photos or it didn't happen, BUT the Dinotte 800L has a MUCH brighter center hotspot than the Trail Tech HID. The HID projects a little more subtle light at the edges, but looking in front of the light, the Dinotte 800L is brighter and more usable light.
The 400L even rivals the HID.
I have a few lights to compare. I will do an inside shot against the wall and a trail shot with markers at different distances. Any other suggestions, please let me know.

And my homebrew 14.4V Mr-11 with the 5500K spot bulbs.
I'll gladly use your lights in a light comparison shoot out.

Don't mean to rush you…but do you know when you'll be reporting the findings of your comparison? I've been thinking about getting a light setup soon…
Thanks!

If you post up the camera settings that you use, in addition to an ambient light photo/reference shot, that would be great. I might be able to get some shots of my homemade LED lights to compare if anyone is interested, probably within a couple of weeks.
