I’d totally go for an integrated speaker and lights on a city bike.  Kiddo loves her tunes, gotta have lights, why the heck not?

Already beginning. Norco has a increased wattage and duration battery up grade. Get out and shred those loamers .

As for the ebike scooters. Had a close call with one on the Mission Bridge. Middle of the road , pitch black out. Doing 30km with a tiny led tail light. No helmet either. He switched to the side walks after .

Am I the only one that wants them less powerful? Every ebike I've ridden the sound is super annoying, as if to remind you that the machine is doing all the work, when the assist just kicks in and then you're a passenger. It turns a level 2 fun activity into level 1, which is the kind of person the industry is intent on recruiting.

Propose me an ebike that has half as much power, twice the burn time and a much smaller battery and I'd throw In. Ebikes that seemed happy to be bicycles rather than leaning towards being e-motos would really help with our trail user conflicts.

Isn't that pretty much the concept behind the Specialized Levo SL or whatever it's called? I definitely see them dividing into two categories. Lighter, lower-powered bikes which really are 'pedal assist,' and those more like the current majority of e-peds where anything other than the lowest possible level of assist allows the user to tear around trails with little effort, but appeal to a whole new market segment.

"Claudio fell in love with that bike because it allows him to climb any hill at ridiculous speeds while giving him the feeling of being on a downhill bike on the way back down".

MORE POWER!!!! when did he jump to Specialized??

Not ready for a E mountain bike but have been commuting on an E bike for years and thousands of miles.

Would love integrated heated grips, horn and turn signals/better lighting someday. Can add all that on but would prefer one battery to keep track of.

What? You don't want a heated seat?

Seriously though, heated grips on a commuter would be rad. Or even on a winter MTB.

These exist, just a clunky execution

Hmm. I was at Fromme one evening last week and there was a younger couple on e-bikes tearing up MH in between laps of Bobsled. At a point, the women shouted, "on your left" as she tore by a couple of riders at about 3 times their. I came back from riding Pipeline and decided to ride Bobsled as I hadn't done so in awhile and it's a great way to finish the night. When I arrived at Bobsled, the couple was just setting off. I took a minute to adjust my pads and took off. I would put my riding ability in strong intermediate category and in  few corners I caught to her. I said, "hey can I squeeze by?" She apologised for being in my way and I said as I passed, "I think this is a lot better than shouting, "on your left as you blow past someone". She had a somewhat puzzled look on her face. In one ear and out the other.
