Okay decided on what bike I am grabbing next year. The 7 is nice and right in between the SX Trail and the Demo 8.

To bad the paint colour isn't in production!

On a side note I was wondering if anyone else saw the Spec Bike an SX Trail… I think…. ridden by Darren B that had the Gum Coloured tires on it?

I have a buddy… owns a shop… and he goes to Spec's Product demos every year. I have ridden the 9… didn't like, ridden the 8… liked… and ridden the SX Trail… didn't like.

Pure assumption on my behalf but this bike tops my list… right now… normally I have a 2 month turn over for my new favorite bike.

But I am banking on this one!

I'm going to the Specialized '07 product launch in July, and will get as much info as they're willing to share at that time.

Check out the front page, though, for Cam's take on things.

question: does the Demo 8 have a 12X150 rear end? Or are both the 7 and 8 the 10X135 standard?

Waiting for the very same answer! Ir would make sense for them to run the 12 x 150… but hey who am I?

Why do you think they're dumping the Demo 9 from the product line next year? Too costly to manufacture? Not enough buyers/demand for a 9" bike? Too many warranty issues?

probably the former rather than the later. People just arent buying big huck bikes anymore, slopestyle bikes are the way forward hence the 7. Also the increases in shock technology has meant that smaller travel can do nearly the same stuff as the big bikes used to, with the increases in riding potential because of better geometery ie, shreading/racing

As I stated before… this is pure speculation as to this actually being the bike for me. I thought the paint was sick… the argile (spelling)… I liked the 8 and disliked the SX Trail… I am looking for that in between bike… hiking Fromme on a demo 9 would be impossible… the SX TRail is too Biker X, Slopestlyish… (I am not hating on anyone… I wish I were half as good as those guys)… from what I can tell the 7 will fit the bill. I have to try it… as I will…

Not a Kona fan sorry!
