Suspension oil Vs Fork oil

So I picked up oil to service my forks some 15wt for my Totem and 10wt for my Van 180.

But just noticed the 10wt is labeled Suspenion Oil not Fork oil. Does it make a difference??

Thanks

If it helps it's Bel ray 10wt suspension oil, all it says about Suspension oil vs the fork oil is that it has a higher viscosity index. My main concern is can it / will it damage my fork?

You will probably be fine running them on forks. But.. Dont run fork oil in your shock.

Also, the the shock oil might be synthetic as alot of fork oils are only semi synthetic or non synthetic.

It is best to consult a pro as to what fluid to use where.

Like the other guy said you will most likely be fine, you will notice a difference the way the fork feels since the viscosity level is higher.

i've tried sticking it in her butt and peeing, she feels that is more a gift for me than her.

thanks for the input guys.

I changed the oil it seems to have screwed with my rebound a bit it's a lot slower at my normal settings. I taking it for some Fromme laps. we'll see if it behaves ok.

Bel-ray is awful, it's designed more around open bath designs from what I understand, and in my experience, it foams a lot.

10w doesn't necessarily mean 10w, look up the viscosity index of the oil for a proper match.

I've been using 7.5wt Motul in the 180 (not the cart just the lowers) and 5wt Bel-Ray for the avy in my boxxer

No problems with the 10wt thus far, but I'm still going to replace the oil with Genuine Fox fork oil. I'm picking some up in Whistler this weekend.

If I get Fox branded oil I will know for sure that it's the right stuff for the job.

Wow so the fork "works" the the other oil.

but not the way it does with genuine fox oil. I spoke to pretty much every tech I could and they all think fox does something to their new 10wt oil(or has something done). There is just no comparison to the real deal.

IMO By real Fox oil leave the other stuff for the moto and Rock Shox guys.
