Take the devinci, it uses an FSR type suspension and will not jack like the Gran mal and pedal a little better….IMO….

Difficult but id go devinci judging by what i can see of the spec. The transition however is still a very good bike and i think you would be happy with either one. What do you ride? As that could make descions slightly easier to make.

Ollie been proven for several years now…Gran Mal is first season of production?

and Devinci offering lifetime warranties on frames

I had 2005 Ollie and beat the sh*t out of it in BC and England, no problemo!!

wheelbase is fairly similar .25 inch difference, weight is pretty much the same as well. Go for the FSR (Ollie) it will hold a line better under high speed braking…

The Gran Mal is a year newer, with a better rear shock (DHX vs. Swinger) if my eyes are right. It also appears to be in better shape. If a single ring is what you want it looks like the better deal.

A spec list would help us break it down. It does look pretty even.

I would go with the Transition for sure. It is an 06 bike so you know it hasn't been ridin' that long, and the specs are alot better.

why not ride them both and see which one you like better? being so similar, only ride quality and preference will set them apart for you.

HFX 9s vs Mags with razor rocks?

Swinger vs DHX?

Transition!

-06 888 RCX2 vs 05 888 R (me thinks).
-Have heard nothing but praise about the guys at Transition.
-IMO, the Grand Mal "look's" better.

Decision - Grand Mal.

Personally riding a Gran Mal and I must say I love it. Not to heavy of a frame, my complete build is a little under 41 lbs. I haven't noticed any brake jack yet. Its pretty good freeriding even better for downhill. With the 6 different shock placements you really have a lot of choice and a very versatile bike.

I have a Wilson and its great but with those part specs I'd lean towards the Gran Mal. But I dunno whether the lack of horst link makes a big difference

tough choice

I think with those specs the Gran Mal is teh better Whistler bike and the Devinci is the better Shore bike.

What a cop out huh? Still leaning towards the Gran Mal though. I think your resale value will be better too.
