I never here about the stratos el jefe, is it any good? Is it better than the fox rc? What was the shock desinged for?

its a totally new shock from Stratos…

i doubt you'll find anyone who has time on one…

the older Stratos shock were esp. prone to failure in teh NS riding conditions…who knows what their new shock is like…

personally i wouldn't risk it, i'd go with a known good source such as a Romic/Avy or vanilla RC….

I replaced the 5th element on my bullit with the el jefe. It made my bike perform alot better. the el jefe is basically the same as the avalanche. It's alittle bigger. my friend has the avy and we compared the two. no difference in the performance. It's cheaper than the avy. I would definitly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. I've been using it for approx 6 months DH, big drops it can take anything you throw at it.
