Looking for some storage hooks to hang bikes in the garage and wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Want something more solid than a regular home depot hook.

The MEC version looks great but not so good for thicker knobby tires.

I used those for a bit but they all twisted and sagged. Replaced them with these, best solution so far. I have tried the MEC ones as well and these are much better for mtb wheels.

I've been using these for 3 years now with no issues. DH bike is 37lbs and hangs completely off the ground, no twisting or bending. It actually doesn't get taken down a lot these days. The other bikes are ~30lb AM bikes, I positioned the hook so I can just wheel the bike over on the rear wheel and set the front wheel in the hook. No muss, no fuss.
I purchased the chain reaction ones a few years ago and I don't have any complaints. I hang my DH bike with no issues, very solid when mounted into a stud. The bike is fairly easy to get out (depending on how high you mount it) with just a slight turn of the front wheel.
I'm going to pick up a few of these from CDN Tire today. Organize my bike corner

I think the hinge just lets the hook fold away. The tire that's not in the hook needs to have pressure against the wall or the bike will swing away. If you fold the bike toward the wall, the bottom tire loses pressure against the wall and will slide away. If you could somehow hold the bottom tire, you might be onto something, although limited by bar width?
Bryan had a similar idea, I think it's still in conception phase.

The raw, primitive, unrefined trails that see little to no maintenance are the kinds of trails that really build skill. What kind of skills do you learn riding a trail that was made by a machine, groomed to perfection and void of any rocks, roots or other obstacles that could send you careening over the handlebars?
The MEC ones didn't fit mountain bike tires very well for us, my wife had a hell of a time getting her bike hooked up. We ended up with the cheaper Canadian Tire hooks, with some electrical tape wrapped around to provide extra padding.

no. There is a 'nub' that sticks out of the wall to hold the lower tire in place while the bike is folded parallel to the wall.
Of course the manufacturer's demonstration makes it look easy but I'm looking for real world experience!
