Anybody ever use the "hinge" ones, so that you can fold the bikes somewhat parallel to the wall? Like this?

I think the hinge just lets the hook fold away. The tire that's not in the hook needs to have pressure against the wall or the bike will swing away. If you fold the bike toward the wall, the bottom tire loses pressure against the wall and will slide away. If you could somehow hold the bottom tire, you might be onto something, although limited by bar width?
Bryan had a similar idea, I think it's still in conception phase.
