buy a new derallieur.

Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.

Replace it all, cable and housing are pretty cheap. If it is newer get some TriFlow to lube the cable.

Get some standard Stainless Steel cables.

Don't bother with the crappy XTR teflon, or the Gore coated cables. Just get some $3.99 Standard Shimano cable's, and it'll work perfectly.

Why they don't just re-open the Hydraulic Derailuer system is beyond me. I wonder what company bought that patent anyway… We will end all of our shifting woes in ~10 years :)

If you are very cheep you can cut off an inch off each end of the housing and relube the cable, its a quick fix but only lasts for so long.

the quik fix is tri-flow but chances are the loop of housing closest to the deraillier is all rusty and fluffed-up

replacing the cable and housing is a good idea and not too expensive .if you don't have the 40$ park cable cutters take the old pieces to the lbs and get them to cut exact replacement pieces for you …but I bet replacing the lower loop will fix it cuz this piece is always hanging down in the wet and fluffs up/rusts 1st
