Does Shimano make a cass w/50 cog? 'cause I'd need a 50 on a 29'er and don't want to buy aftermarket add ons.

That, + eagle cass is light but Z makes an interesting case re: gx durability.

I'll stick with Shimano thanks. I don't need a $300 cassette for any reason.

I think 46/47 is their largest . Just debating how big to go with my 29er as well , currently have a 40t and have a 45t as well. Tempted to do the Shark and be done , just means more $$ on parts .

Shimano for me too.  11speed 11-42T rear cog with a 1UP 47T extender.  Makes the last three shifts an even 5 tooth jump.  37-42-47.  No interest in SRAM drivetrains at all.

Eagle is noisy, expensive and I dont like the SRAM shifters. Personal preference I guess, but I just love the feel of the XTR shifter and not a fan of the push/push shifting on SRAM.

Count me as another Shimano-only guy.  Expensive wear items make no sense to me and I've been burned by too many SRAM products clearly not ready for market to give them any more money.  SunRace cassette and Shimano 10 speed XTR shifter for me thanks.

Except for the Pike I bought a few months back I guess...ugh.  Why does Fox have to be so expensive?

Haven't looked at much of the SRAM stuff of late.  When they brought out their bigger tooth drivetrain setup with the super pricey cassette it only made the choice to go back to Shimano easier.   Previous bikes when I first went to single ring was on the 10 spd with 30t narrow wide up front ant 36 tooth out back with a 42t One Up extender, this provided a great range and no front D.  Worked great, have that setup on both my kids bikes.  Moved to 11 spd on new bike and have a setup that has been pretty much flawless.  Started with a new XT 11 spd drive group, purchased from someone who pulled it off from new to install a pricey SRAM setup.  The only flaws in the group kit was the 11-46 cassette and the XT derailler had no knuckle joint as the bike it was from didn't need it.  The jump felt large from 1st to 2nd with the 11-46.  Picked up an 11-42 cassette and found a 11 spd Goat link (cheaper than buying a Shimano link), and also the One-Up 50t Shark, that setup with a 32t NW up front provides a little more range than my 10 spd and has worked fantastic.  Yes, weighs more than a more expensive SRAM set, but it works for me.  Now there are even more options for 50T cassettes so when this wears out I will revisit the cassette choices.  Have fun and ride.

I have xt 11spd 11x46 on both of my bikes, solid performance, and very affordable, I also can't stand sram shifters, hate they way they feel and work, much prefer the shimano stuff

I can guarantee you at least one of those things is never going to happen.

Shimano for me too. Just built a new bike and went XT 11 speed with e13 TRS+ 9-46 cassette (I hate the 37-46 jump on the XT cassette and it weighs a ton). All works flawlessly together. Was cheaper and much lighter than GX Eagle, and I get a hair more range...Win/win.

Another Shimano guy checking in. XT8000 with the SunRace 11-46 and a RF NW32 up front. I actually made a bit of money selling the X1 11-speed that came on this bike and buying XT8000 from Germany (this was a few months before GX Eagle existed). Don't like SRAM feel and the replacement costs are too high. Those e13 9-46 look interesting, if I got a new YT bike I'd try it but for now I'll stick to my cheap SunRace cassettes.

Has anyone used the sunrace 11-50  cassette with an 11 speed shimano setup? The 42->50 looks like a large gap to jump when changing though

I'm running Eagle on both my bikes and so far so good. Although I don't put in the mileage that Znarf does, I've had no issue with durability.  I have about 200km on each setup (GX eagle on the hardtail and X01 Eagle on my FS), the cassettes look almost new. I'm going to measure the chains this evening just to check what wear is like at this point, I don't expect it to be high.
