Just got the latest digital copy of Bike mag and there's a 2 page ad for SRAM GX. Looks like a new mtb groupset that someone in marketing let slip a little too soon.
SRAM GX
Interesting. Hopefully it's a lower-cost 1x group.
Here's the ad:
With the one-ups wolftooths etc out there it would have to be a really good price for anyone to upgrade to it, but stock on entry level bikes sounds good!
Also it might force Shimano to really jump on the 1x train.
And that would be so great. If there was a 1x group with Shimano reliability and value !
2x11
Why slag free swag?
ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.
Ad says: 1x11, 2x11, and 2x10
Ride, don't slide.
I saw a couple Treks in a shop today with the new XTR 1X11. Nice stuff.
Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.
If they were smart it would be an electric group

If they were really smart, it would be a cheaper wide range 1x10 group.
But they are not. They want to push 1x11, while the majority of the intended market has had enough bullshit from these guys and is looking at that Praxis cassetteā¦and is waiting for an 11-42.
(or maybe it's just me).
I don't want electric if it isn't wireless and I love 1X11. They just need to put a clever coating on the 42T to make it last as long as the rest of the cassette.

No care.
I'm tired of the planned drivetrain obsolescence and dangly bits on my bikes, and am going gearbox.
Oilchange every 10,000km instead of replacing cassettes and chains on a frequent basis, and a derailleur whenever I eat shit on it or catch a stick or rock.

You want a low end electric wireless group from Sram?! Hahahahaha!
No but XO1 level would be great.
It'll come and make wired stuff look about as advanced as a stick.

I'll take the single hidden battery of a wired system over a massive derailleur mounted battery any day. Maybe the best compromise is a wireless shifter with an internal battery driving the derailleur(s), dropper post and/or suspension. That would be slick.
What massive battery?
