Spank Pedals
woah those like nice, would match up perfectly with my bikes paint and blue atlas bars
nobody is this dumb.
I would definetely try them out. The large inner bearing(crankside) with smaller bearings at the outboard side, seems to work well on my Podium pedals. Wow do i dislike the Spank name plus all their products have stupid names too. Oozy, Spoon, etc.
side note. I would say the pedal is a very loose copy of the Podium pedal
Ah Spank, the newer, slightly different version of Funn/Gusset/whatever else we're branding brightly coloured catalogue parts these days.
I agree that they are just a branded pedal likely made by Wellgo or somebody like that, BUT, the design of them addresses a few of the issues that many pedals on the market have.
From a design aspect they look promising as well as from a price perspective.

"Early 2011" needs to come sooner, I'm dying to get my hands on a pair of these. They look very well designed.
They're 12mm thick plus the extra clearance around the edges and the pins are accessible from the other side. I don't think it can get much better than that.
The rest of their 2011 products look pretty desirable too. Looks like everything got a little stronger, lighter and a fresh set of colors. Spank's gonna be the one to beat!

Don't forget deity.

I really don't get it… design issues? There are tons of great pedals out there and when I get home from a ride the last thing I'm thinking is "damn, if only pedals were better designed…"
That said, I'd give these a shot, in black, with the name ground off, on a mountain bike.
What stands out to me in this pedal design:
- they are thin
- pins thread in from the back side
- the leading edge and outside edge are made to deflect impacts rather then get caught up on objects
- big bearing on the inside small bushing on the outside
- light weight using aluminum rather than soft magnesium.
As Bryan mentioned, they are somewhat of a Podium knock off at a lower price.
I'd take them in black or silver minus the name as well.

What's wrong with the name, I thought they had everything named pretty well. You old coots just don't like the bright colors and semi-inapropriate names as much as us kiddies :P (eg. Spank Bitch Stick :D)
at least it says spike on there rather than spank (unless it says spank on the other side), they do look like a nice pedal though.
I kinda like the new blackspire pedals, cheap too!

Just to clarify - this is called targeted marketing. You are part of the most easily influenced consumer group…
spunk!

Like the Twenty6 prerunners, it looks like the pins would rip out or just break off.
