small backpack or bikepack recommendations?

I have an Evoc FR trail which is great for anything longer than 2-3 hrs and if I really need to lug stuff up the hill that I don't really want to wear like helmet, pads etc but I've got nothing apart from a water bottle and small beltpack/fannypack for the shorter rides. To be honest is there anything that'll go on the bike so I can go free as nature intended and carry water, multitool, phone etc? Anyone tried the topeak trail ninja?

A light small backpack would also be ok as I can always hang stuff off it on the way up so any other insight would be good too.

Those look good, a little spendy but definitely good stuff.

I think I'm also going to try these straps once they get a new order in and see how they play : http://backcountryresearch.com/

For a strap? Definitely, but the internal pull tight tethers look like a good idea for holding it all together.

I just saw Silca's BOA setup appear in my inbox as well : https://silca.cc/products/57c424fc56d9341100298881
