Any suggestions for MTB shoes? I ride flats and the last pair I bought were some cheapass airwalks I found on sale for 45 bucks with a honeycomb sole. Now the sole is torn to shit and I'm slipping every now and then. What do people ride - any good deals out there or is just buck up and shell out 100 bucks on some expensive bmx shoes?
thx

Canadian Tire Altra's. $20…why would pay more for a shoe you are planning to destroy, unless appeasing the fashion police is important to you.

I ride with Vans Rowley XLTs, I love them. Most vans shoes work really well because of their waffle grip and flat bottom.

DC Titan's. I paid like 50 or 60 for them. Awesome grip, awesome feel (my feet arent numb after riding for 6 hours), and the tounge is thick as hell. Great torsional rigidity, and a stable shoe all around. The pillbox sole grips the hell out of my Snafu's and they have hardly worn down in the year or 2 that I have had them. They arent the coolest looking shoe in the world, but they do the job.

I like my women like I like my Scotch. 15 years old and mixed up with coke.

I have a half a dozen pairs of airwalks right now. They are preyyt much the only shoe I wear. These days I was using AndyMac's. They grip real nice and are fairly stiff. But then they got wet so I went back to the Specialized Posi-trac I bought last year, and I have slipped pedals like mad since. Any skate shoe will work for you. Last night I bought a pair of Diadora clippless shoes for road, XC and probably racing my Super 8.

Shimano shoes. I've tried most shoes and these are awesome. Flat soles that are sticky on the pedal, don't get ripped up, and are stiff enough to not hurt your feet when landing hard. I've had mine for close to 2 years and still going strong.

i rode rowley xlts and they were sweet, so grippy, but the tread got eaten up pretty fast. ive been riding my bmx with etnies rooftops and they're so sweet. i have the 02's and they stuck really well and still do, but they felt sorta heavy at first. the 03's are super light tho and seem to have a bit more flex which is nice. id try out some of those $20 ones tho, cant go wrong there! or check out a local skate shop, they usually have some clearance stuff goin out around now
