Currently on a Fox Evo CTD on my SC Blur TR, 5" of travel. I have never felt 100% with it, I'm 220lbs with gear and have to run it at the top end of pressure to get right sag. It's definitely packed out by the midway of a sustained downhill.
After selling my DH bike I'm thinking of dropping some of the proceeds into rear suspension upgrades on my Blur. So I'm looking for some advice from the brain trust.
Details:
Me: 220lbs "bull in a china shop" style of rider. I'm hard on my gear but not the type replacing wheels regularly. Mostly pedal the bike but do have a few days at year on silverstar (not full days) using their #enduro pass! I prefer the down over the up but still like the workout.
I like to be able to do as much as my own work as possible when time allows. Working on bikes is just as much a hobby for me as riding, so user serviceability is of high value to me.
Bike: SC Blur TR, 125mm rear travel. Manitou Mattoc Pro at 140mm. 200x50mm shock needed
Options:
1. Vorsprung Corset upgrade
$150
2. Cane Creek DBAir CS
$500-650
3. Cane Creek DBAir IL
$500-600
4. DVO Topaz
$500-600
Trying to keep the price to $500ish.
Not sure how much I can sell my stock CTD for but let's assume I can't sell.
Will a Coraet be a noticeable upgrade? Will something like a Topaz or DBAir be worth an additional $350-450? Will unicorns shoot out my posterior?
