Does anyone have recommendations for a shop that does decent shock setup?
I have a Marzocchi 66 front and Fox DHX 5 rear from 2007.

setup or service?
for service you should probably take your fork to marz canada in north van. suspensionwerx for the dhx, or ask your bike shop as fox air cans are pretty easy to service

Perfect. I think that's what I'm looking for. My rear shock is bottoming out more than it used to, but the last shop I took it into seemed to think it was in working order, so I'm leaning more towards thinking it just needs to be set up properly. Thanks for the info.

Could your username be contributing to this bottom-out? (had to)

Well done ;)
Actually, I'm 5'9", 150 lbs… but I'm chubby on the inside.
If you end up needing it…I could dig up info on where I sent my dhx5.0…I think it was just over to the Island. Quick turn around and works beauty:)

^That be correct…Thx
I ended up taking my bike in to Arthur at suspension therapy, and after inspecting the front and rear shocks, informed me that they were toast and needed some serious servicing. He was nice enough to allow me to re-book with him at no cost called up the Marzocchi guys to get me booked in for my fork and pointed me at the suspensionwerx guys for rear shock service. Great service from Arthur. Looking forward to the actual setup and riding a bike with working suspension - I think I just got used to how crappy the bike felt.
nice to hear. We are actually pretty lucky in the LM to have some great people to deal with when it comes to suspension.

No doubt….it makes a big difference:lol:
While I do ride for John Henry Bikes, and this could be taken as a shameless plug. I am genuinely impressed with the recent investment that store has made in equipment, personnel and training to service various brands of suspension. With suspension being such a critical part of a modern mountain bike John Henry is rebuilding new and used forks / shocks to ensure optimal performance. Full bike services are offered with various levels of suspension rebuild.
Marzocchi Canada would a natural option to service the fork. But to my knowledge the John Henry guys could service both fork and shock and help out with suspension setup. At the very least it'd be worth popping in and having a discussion and see what they could do for you, and likely for a good price too.

While I do work for a business that services suspension, and this could be taken as a biased - and totally self serving - opinion:
Based on what I have seen, heard, and experienced, if I was you - Tim Coleman - I would not be lending my reputation to the quality of workmanship, post service performance, or to the basic integrity of the business practices of Norco John Henry Bikes.
To the OP: Naz [HTML_REMOVED] Alex at Marzocchi are definitely your best place to take any Marzocchi product - we are lucky to have open access to the brand's HQ in Canada and their expertise; with some research you will find - multiple - excellent local options to service other products.
