That's good,because they have to be serviced weekly.

Once a year for me. The bulk of my riding is in the park if that makes a difference.

Went from Straitline tanks to Point1 Podiums to Straitline Amps.

Can't say I care either way if it's bearing or bushing.

I just cleaned out my Amp's for the first time. Gotta say, Straitline sure makes it easy to service.

The wee ones at the end are so wee I can't believe they last longer than a week. That said, I had a full season on them, so I wouldn't say failure, more just expected wear.

This is actually somewhat true. The bearings/bushing in Straightlines are not very durable.

I hear blackspire is working on a new pedal design….I can't wait to try them.

I have been using my straitline defacto Lynosky pedals for over a year…never serviced them. They do get squeaky once in while but other than that still run great.

I would steer clear of the Spank Spike. I love the platform, but I've got bearing issues with mine. They warrantied the spindles for me (I originally had the first version), but they still aren't that great. I've got slop between the bearings and the pedal body. Brand new bearings, brand new spindles, and I've got slop. Meh.

Speaketh the truth. the platform really feels great. of all the pedals i've had, the shape of the spikes feel great for foot confidence. but I think that they should rename the model to "repack."

I too have my eye on the hope pedals at Lynn Valley. perhaps one day I can has the shiny.

I think I got mine a little later than you and, while I don't have problems with the bearings, I wouldn't say they're long-lasting. I do a semi-annual replacement of bushings and repacking of bearings. The bushing kits are kinda pricey for 2 little pieces of plastic. I'd probably buy them again though.

Thanks for the info. Liked the V12's but one to many smacks of Limestone has taken it's toll.

+1 to that. Thought I'd try them, and absolutely hated the way they felt under my feet. They have been relegated to my commuter bike.

I'm 210, and they're holding up fine for North Shore riding. I have friends running them on their DH rigs that see plenty of Whistler time.

^^ yeah I think the plastic, or polycarbonate wahtever, is strong enough and the pricepoint is excellent. Just wish the body shape was different.
