On my new bike I have a Deore 12spd derailleur that has some free movement in. With the clutch engaged there is some initial movement before the tension takes over, like there is no clutch on the start of the movement. I believe this is the cause of the remaining drive train noise I can't nail down. I have taken apart the roller partof the clutch to see if anything seems off and even added a bit more tension to shimano torque specs. There is still initial play.
Might this be something with shimano in general or deore in general. I'm not sure if I can fix it or should I just buy an SLX or XT derailleur, or back to Sram.
My only other experience with a clutch derailleur was 11speed GX for the last 3 years, and that one was tensioned all the way through it's movement, and quiet.
