I know it's not shimano but I am super happy with my magura MT trail sports. Can't beat them for $250 a set and the levers are so nice it feels like it is having sex with your fingers.
Shimano 4 piston brakes - XT8020 vs 8120 vs Zee/Saint
Enjoying the stopping power of the Zee's compared to SLX I had before, but cant stand how much the pads rattle. Pretty annoying....Might try the non finned versions to see if they are any quieter.
Take the pads out, spread the spring a little more, and reassemble.
Worked for me on 8020s.
i don't get this whole saint/zee brake pad rattle thing. i've got zees on both bikes, and never a sound. until the last ride. i heard occasional buzz and it's a sound i don't recognize. even when i bounce the bike on the ground. i think it's the pads!
Ya, me too. I've been running saints for a decade and haven't noticed a thing with either the finned pads or the old-style ones.
I have Zee's on both bikes and 200 rotors on front, only way to go IMO. i never regret having big stoppers. i don't find any 'on or off' feel with the Zees, they are powerful but easy to modulate. some things i'll buy from Jenson, brakes i'll only buy from LBS now just in case there's a problem. i want full warranty and shop support with some stuff. i find brakes pretty complicated.

Going to buy the XT's. Best place to buy for the supernumberone deal?
