Probably not ^^ but what does it do to the brake if you get it wrong, i believe the wrong brake fluid will fuck up all your rubber brake parts

if you don't really know do you wing it ? also can you mix 4 and 5.1 I don't need to find out

I've seen a guy put the wrong fluid in the wrong place and completley fuck the brakes in his car and that was costly, I suspect he was drunk

actualy it does say 4.0 also 5.1 on the SRAM brake

I'm still not sure how one eliminates wandering Shimano bite point on a Sram brake.

By using SRAM oil or is that Dot4 or Dot 5.1, so many questions ?

This doesn't strike me as sage mechanic wisdom.

In case anyone's reading here but not on Mike's review of a bleed kit... 

1- if I drain Magura brakes and replace with Shimano oil, will I die? 

2- if I don't drain, and allow the oils to mix, will I die?

Death.

While back I ran Shimano oil one side, Magura oil other side. Couldn't tell the difference. 🤷

Yes can do; 4.0 and 5.1 are compatible, but not 5.0.

Patience. It's when you're in a rush to get something done that things usually go sideways. Getting the right info on what you're doing and taking your time will get you through pretty much any repair you'll need to do on your bike - or anything mechanical for that matter. Where people often run into problems is when they don't have a specialty tool that they need, which is why knowing ahead of time what you need to do and what supplies/tools you need can make things go a lot more smoothly.

Longest way round is the shortest way home.

DOT fluids are easily procured, so there’s no need to mix.

Mineral oils are theoretically interchangeable but discussions I’ve had with brake designers had yielded an understanding that the viscosity differs and can great impact brake feel. That seems in particular if it’s too light. I have maxima, Shimano, formula, mineral oils here, and will soon see if using Putoline 2.5 across the board works well.

which question ? at this point they are just questions , if you don't ask questions maybe you make a misteak, still nobody has told me how  get a wandering shimano  brake point on a Sram  brake ?

Perhaps less wisdom and more whinge but here I am with a new hardtail and the only thing stopping me riding it is one sticky piston up front on a Hope Tech4 E4. A quick google and it seems to be a ver common issue out of the box. 

I’ve got a good selection of live but the only decent piston grease is for mineral systems and I can’t find enough info to take the risk and use it. So, off to get some silicone seal lube tomorrow and hopefully be riding by the weekend. I’ll be pissed if I’m not up and running by then.

Actually, following a little more research, it looks like silicone pistons lube is fine across across mineral and DOT (with sram piston grease for their mineral and dot systems being identical to their old DOT Grease. 

I have some kluber grease here that came with a Cura seal kit so will give that a try and hopefully have the sweetest bike I have even laid my hands on ready for the weekend.

Any recommendations for installing tight DH casing tires?  I recently had to use a screwdriver to get the last bit onto the rim (my park tool levers were too fat to cram into the tight space.  I see there's some tools available for cushcore installation but I'm not installing inserts.  However I wonder if they'd help with DH tires.  Ideally something like a screwdriver but with rubber or plastic layer over the metal part so I don't damage the rim or the tubeless tape.

Soapy water and good levers like cushcore. If you go bigger and bigger lever you will end up damaging rim.

All of the Cush core tips hold true without. If you have the luxury, fitting the tyre to an easier rim, inflating to 40 and leaving overnight will settle it a little and can help.

Also, do it somewhere warm. Whether or not it helps things flex it’s much nicer on your hands.

What’s the three and rim? Some combos are not meant to be.

I recall the hutchinson Kevlar beaded cx tubelsss tyres of about 2010. So tight they would t fit many wheels. I forced the issue one day and in the process the Kevlar bead snapped. It was terrifying godawfil sound so loud and the kinetic force of the bead breaking and releasing all the tension added to it.

The tire was the Conti DH Kryptotal (which is a known difficult, but not impossible, tire to install) onto Chromag Phase30.  I mean I got it eventually but after sweating, swearing and killing my admittedly weak hands and wrists for over an hour I gave in and used a screwdriver to pry the last bit of tire onto the rim.  Put a scratch on the rim too.

This looks like a good product that would work for me but it's still metal like a screw driver...at least it's rounded though and less chance of damaging the tape.
