let's see… I'm about 170-180 lbs. I run a stiff spring with the SPV at about 60 psi [HTML_REMOVED] the progressiveness cranked about halfway. I rarely bottom [HTML_REMOVED] it handles most stuff very well. I think that last time I was at Whistler I might have run a little less air, but you can fiddle with that at the bottom of the lift. I recall liking it a little softer.
Hope that helps [HTML_REMOVED] have fun with it.
I'm quitting organized crime; from now on I'll stick to the regular kind.
At 190 lbs you will need a stiffer spring. get a firm spring. Turn in the Red hex nut in about half way using the correct socket and start with 30lbs of air. Try that out and it to linear bump the PSI up in 10lbs increments until u find what u like
Ok, well here is a start. The red hex nut on the right leg contols your compresion dampening (linear or progressive feel) start it off all the way out then turn it 1.5 turns in (righty tighty). Then put about 70lbs in the air-valve in the center of that nut (you will need a shock pump for this). Adjust rebound dampening to your taste with the knob on the bottom of the right leg. This should get you riding.

Get out of the way, freedom's coming through!
step 1: replace internals with 05 internals
setp 2: begin setup
geta frim spring, i have one i can sell ya only used it in my fork for a month, dunno what they ware worth so make an offer
They are 30 bucks new
step 1: replace internals with 05 internals
setp 2: begin setup
Amen.
I thought the 04 internals were ok, but the fork needed warrenty anyways so I sent it in and got the 05 internals as well…I've noticed a huge difference and everyone who's ridden my bike claims my fork is one of the plushest they've ridden.

I'm about 210lbs and I ran about 70-80 lbs pressure and the adjuster in about 4 turns. i've since been upgraded to the '05 internals and my fork is sooooo much nicer. If you've got about a week definitely send it into James at OGC. He'll (or someone in his crew) will set it up nicely for you. Costs about $25 bucks for a diff. spring.
sorry to jack the thread, but why are springs so much cheaper for manitous than for marz? I paid about 80$ for my springs?
manitou uses only one spring… so kinda half the price isnt it.

and hey, Italians make mucho goodo springs so naturally they cost more
Step one: dial out the red nut all the way. Add 30-40% of your boday weight in PSI to start off. Take a little ride (don't bounce the suspension, but get in your more "aggressive" body position over the bike and (maybe use a zapstrap) get about 30% sag (or whatever you want). Pump it up/down depending on how much sag you like. Take note of this PSI
Step 2: Dial in the red rebound adjuster a couple turns at a time to ramp up the progression of the spring. The smaller the air chamber, the more progressive. Obviously though, when you screw the air chamber in, the PSI will increase due to the smaller volume. Once you've found how progressive you like it, check your PSI and set it to the one you'd taken note of before.
Tada, done.
And the rebound knob on the bottom is fairly self explanitory.
