Cool idea. What regulates the pressure. Some kinda blow off valve.

I could see it being useful in cars or trucks, with so many people who forget or don't bother to check and maintain their vehicles. But I'm not sure if it would take off in the bike market.. If you don't have the time to fire a pump or two into your tires you probably don't have the time to lube your chain or check your spokes, which probably means your bike won't last long. Just my thoughts..

Very cool idea though

What happens when I do a big ass skid when I pull into work. I need to skid to impress my co-workers.

with the purpose of proper tire pressure being to maintain efficiency and control, wouldn't it seem that a permanently attached "pump" (or lump) right on the tire tread seem to be a solution that only causes more problems? If they could streamline the execution, MAYBE, but it looks like a wash of a design to me.

I am an armchair engineer at its worst :damn:

Seems like this would just add to rolling resistance as a trade off for tire pressure.

Plus what if this pump part of the tire wears, would this mean byebye pressure?

what if you pick up some glass in the pump tube? pump stops working or does the tire deflate? seems sketchy.

Check my stuff for sale!

I'd rather pump my tires before the ride. During the ride I'm working hard enough. Inflating tires is doing work. Doing work takes energy. It would add to the pedalling force.

what if it malfunctions and keeps on inflating the tire till it blows up when you're riding lol. seems like an over engineered bike, probably made by the germans.

Nifty but what do you do if you want less air pressure or more. Will they be offered in different PSI's for larger and smaller riders? Seems hkind of like a solution to problem that is just as easily solved with a foot pump before you ride off.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.
