I do most of my buy and sell elsewhere (simply due to the size of the system). However, if buying and selling on NSMB, I'd check the persons board profile. It's not surefire, and there are certainly a few exceptional DBs here, but for the most part I find you can get a decent handle on the legitimacy of someone based on thier posts here. Whereas, I don't pay a lick of attention to the crap that people post on "that other site". I also treat NSMB as a local resource only, and do cash on pickup, nothing else. I've done 30+ transactions between NSMB and that "other" site (including some trades) and have never been scammed.

Knock on wood, but I've also had good experiences with NSMB and PB.
Do your homework and trust your instincts. If a guy seems shady, then move on. I do mostly local sales, and found that a large number of people into biking are pretty cool. Even the dirtbag lowballer who hits you up on PB for an xbox trade, is a nice kid. He just has bad parents. And acne.

Brand new account with no track record is often one giveaway … google search their handles and see if they deal on other sites or people complain about them. Ask for a phone number to reach them at.

ditto, sold tons from NSMB, PB, and the MEC gearswap for clothes and never had a problem. Its easy to weed out the scammers and time-wasters.

_"That hypa guy is a dick, don't ever deal with him. Not only did he come early to the meeting place, but he had cash in hand and didn't try to lowball me! I mean, what the hell is that all about? Guy is trying to change the world at a time when I really could use a new xbox. What an ass, fuck that guy. I'd rather keep my Hayes 9 then sell them to him.

Sincerely, KenN_

Yeah, I can agree with that. He showed up on time with cash. Seemed like a nice guy too.

What a dick.
