sigh I'd ride both the Nomad, and SX trail. C'mon! Both are sweet bikes and both cater to that same sort of rider. Both have totally different suspension set ups, and frames. Yes they can be compaered to each other, but untill some one can definitvely say that one is better than the other then it's all speculation isn't it? Here, how about I go rob a bank, buy and ride both bikes, then I'll give you my unsolicited opinion, seeing as how we all give unsolicited opinions 'round here:P, and we'll have the issue settled. Or not. :dizzy:

Ever think of the fact its sloped downwards and may actually be lower than a normal top tube of any other bike, and that it just appears to be because its starts out high?

Has anyone had the experience of sitting on SC's newly designed bikes?

I have sat on some of their new bikes (new V10, jackal, etc.) and didn't notice anything bad.

However…

I was looking at a test Jackal with one of the SC Engineers. He said "Hey, wanna see something cool?" "Okay" I said. So, he went to his toolbox and grabbed this massive crescent wrench. Like huge. And he walked over to the Jackal…and he swung a good three or four times at it. We're talking over the head, full force, wailing on the top tube of a jackal with a crescent wrench. "Check it out" he says. There were a few small little…dents I guess. But I couldn't believe the lack of damage.

So. Funny looking top tube = massively strong top tube.

Yep, apparently that's where most of the stress from the headtube goes, is into the area where they put the hump. Its an engineered deformity.

I don't know why everyone is so concerned about the looks on this rig, it's what's on the inside that counts. Yeah there are good looking bikes and ugly bikes, just like people. I'm sure there are some ugly people out there saying this bike is ugly, that don't have the right to talk. lets wait until the bike is on the floor of some shops, and under riders to make so much speak.

i think it's pretty damn ugly at first glance but sc doesn't fuck around with the design of their products so i'm sure once somebody actually has a chance to ride one how it was intended to be ridden, the functionality to ugliness ratio will be about 1 000 000:1
