Yup engagement is the same as any other spd but the support is miles better. I guess it all depends on the shoe too but I'm assuming we all ride in the same style of shoe these days.
i like em. plays especially well with the shimano shoe.
Anyone notice if they offer more spring tension than before?
Don't have, want. Nothing but good reviews.
Will buy when xt's die which may be never.
I put them on my DH bike near the end of bike park season, they're good, I don't crank the tension super high but the lowest setting feels like more tension than the lowest on xt pedals, not sure if the highest setting is tighter. Haven't really settled on the pin set up yet (height and whether I remove some) tried a few different ways

Been meaning to order a set for the G16. Move the XTR Trails to the trail bike.
Buddy of mine replaced a set of DX's (his go to pedal since they resin version came out) with the new Saint pedal. After a few days in the bike park, snappy snappy (normal riding for him, with no crashing). Shimano warrantied the pedals, they are now on his trail bike.
He used to get about 2 to 3 seasons (depending on riding days) out of a set of DX's on his bike park ride, more on his trail bike. We'll have to see how long the Saints last on his trail bike.
Information is anecdotal of coarse, a one off doesn't make for a true revue. For now, he doesn't trust them in the park and wants to work them out on the trail bike for now.
