Saint Cranks on a Demo 9 or just get 06 Truvativ's?

Ok, I am getting conflicting info from people.

My understanding is that when the Saint cranks first came to the market, the spindle length was not long enough to run on a Demo 9.

Now I hear from some people they are.

So what is it? Will Saint cranks fit nicely on a Demo 9 frame running an e13 chainguide. What spindle length is needed? By nicely, I mean will they go on without a lot of modifications? Or should I just buy the Truvativ Holzfellar 06 cranks with the new howitzer BB …. I know for a fact these will fit very nicely.

Thoughts?? Either way, I will have a new set of either Saints or Holzfellars on my wheels next year.

I am leaning towards the 06 Holzfellars, but only because of the uncertaintly of fitting the Saints on my bike.

Thanks guys!

If it fits, go for Saint no comparison whatsoever.

i'm running saint cranks with the stock chainguide(blackspire?) on my 04 demo9 with no issues….

and no mods other then the swingarm pivot bolt nut needed to be filed abit, which was a 30 second fix

If anybody has a picture of a demo 9 with E13 chainguide running Saints, that would make things a lot easier on my end. See it and you will believe it!

If I go saints, is there a specific spindle length that I should ask for (in other words, do they make more than one??)

Thanks

I think there may be some issues with the saints and the E13 allright.
But a bit of cutting does the job , pretty sure they will work on the demo tho.

I believe there are two spindle lengths for Saint now. The wide one for the 150 rear axle and the narrow one for 135mm?

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

I have no idea if they will fit nicely or not. BUT, on a medium m3 they work absolutely flawlessly. I would make it work if I were you.

I have never regreted buying my Saints. Best cranks I've owned. The only other thing I'd consider are a set of Hones to save some coin and some weight if you don't need the huge durability.

saint cranks come in 68, 73 or 83mm BB shell width. compare the cranksets in the 135 and 150 series here:
