Has anyone tried both of these shocks? I'm looking to replace the RP2 on my Enduro 29. I don't have much experience with either.

Don't have experience, but would also be very interested!
Thinking about doing this in my 14 Stumpjumper Evo
CC DBAir would be my choice.

You'd take the DBAir over the Inline?

The new bike is limited in terms of what shock will fit. The RS Monarch RC3 Plus (Debonair) will work, as will the Float X, and the DB Inline.
I did have RC3 Plus on another bike that was quite good (better than the RP23), but would be interested in how the DB Inline would rate. I also like the idea of being able to externally tune the shock to more than CTD or High/Med/Low, so once again the DB Inline ranks right up there. In terms of price, it is fairly close between the DB Inline and the RC3.
So I guess the only dark horse is the Float X, that said I haven't been too much of a Fox fan when it comes to their shocks.
For reference on my bike the DB Air or the X-Fusion Vector Air HLR will not fit, due to the longer piggyback.
Waiting to hear some review on the DB Inline from those not sponsored who pay for their gear.
I have a Debonair+ on my bike now and very happy with it. Some things to keep in mind though:
- Debonair most likely only comes with MM tune which may not be ideal, can be tuned in Whistler by Shaun Cruikshank
- Should be more oil in Debonair with piggyback than DBInline making for less heat effect on long downhills
- DBInline more tuneable
- May be able to fit water bottle better with DBInline depending on frame

Actually I meant CC in general.. either the DBAir (if it fits) or the DBinline.
On one hand I'm inclined to go with the Monarch to match my Pike (does this reasoning even make sense?). On the other the massive adjustability of the DBInline is very appealing.

Just have a monarch R on my Kona. Can't say anything bad about it. It is my first air shock so not allot of experience but seems to compare well to any of the coil shocks I have ridden over the years (everything from Vanilla R, Rocco, DHX, RC4, Risse Jupitor, and CCDB). Go for it and they are cheap!

Fantastic question. I'm in the same bout with my Enduro 26.
CCDB, about $700 and lots of adjustability. Maybe too much for me.
Monarch, $500. Not sure about the tune it comes with.
Float X. Not available.
The interwebs says that the DBInline will be closer to $500, which is good news.

Does in come in a Specialized mount version though?

There is hope!
Schwing!!
An industry friend said the Monarch Plus RT3 is the better shock for the E29 than the CCDB (non-inline). He also said the stock Fox Float was better than the Cane Creek on the E29.
I'll be ordering a Monarch Plus soon.
