Anybody know if the rebound control knob at the bottom of the leg is removable so it doesn't get damaged during riding - couldn't find any details on the web site…….

yup. they usually fall-off before getting damage. the 06's RS anyways.

i think it is cuz you pull it out to adjust motion control neways

yes and it's there solid - on mine it takes a lot of force to take it out and insert back on. I wouldn't worry about it falling off. Heck even on my WC BoXXer it's never fallen off.

hmm is it removable on the argyle too?

yes - on the 409 and 318 you can use it to adjust the floodgate.
