Trying to decide which shock to purchase. Are there any major differences? Is one better than the other? More reliable?

Earlier this year I was hoping for a fat tax return and a new Avy shock, but when my return came and it was only $150, that dream faded quick.
I can get a Vivid for sooo cheap, and if it is gonna be a better performer than my DHX Air, then I want in. I have never run a coil rear shock before. Me want butter.
