Rock Shox Seals

Hey, I have blown the seals on my boxxer wc. My LBS wants 90$ to replace the seals and that seems a little over priced. I was wondering if its possible to buy the seals and install them myself or whether i have to take it to a mechanic? I checked the boxxer manual but it says nothing about replacing the seals. If anyone could help me out or direct me to someone who can that would be awesome.

Cheers,

Aleks

look up enduro fork seals, it's like $20 for both dust whipers and seals.

the seals on my 06 boxxer team are crap, thay lasted about 2 weeks, befor the springs started to come off the dust whipers.

I learned a hard lesson with my previous WC Boxxer after having gone through many sets of Rock Shox seals. Enduro seals completely rock and seem to not ever fail and are relatively cheap (i paid 24). As far as installing, I cannot help you there (i can do mine but it does take a little mech skill).

enduro seals for the win.

seems 06 boxxers have been having problems with a run of seals.

my 05s were brilliant.

42 x 32 x 7 oil seal at BC bearing (now located in annacis isld). u most likely do not need to replace the dust seal so if u just wanna fix what's broken then just buy 2 oil seals for $12 (tax included). plus i'm not too crazy w/ those blue enduro dust seals.

what i can't tell u is how long this seal will last but according to the guy i spoke to there, he says he's been using a seal from the same manufacturer in his dirt bike and it's been there for a year now leak-free.

.

Enduro makes a version of their seal that is impregnated w/ graphite and is a charcoal gray colour, very much like the original seals…..

Are the oil seals on a 2002 Boxxer the same size as the newer WC models? I deal with BC Bearing at work and would like to order some new seals for my fork as they are leaking again.

Well, you beat me to it.

BTW, $90 to replace the seals probably include labor [HTML_REMOVED] parts. Trust me, it is not that hard to change the seals yourself. I assume yours in an 06 WC so it is even easier because it is less messy than the older open-bath generation.

Sweet. Perhaps I will replace the seals in my 2003 BoXXer Race with Enduro seals. Can I get them at my LBS?
