Roach - The Resurrection?

The unfortunate aspect is that current retail structure is to make a product to last just long enough for you to not be pissed off when it fails. Thus returning for a new one.
Roach does not fall under this umbrella. I see local sales skyrocketting at first but then dying off as the product lasts too long!
Some serious overseas marketing maybe?
I would love to see it back though. Hope this happens.

I still wear my brown (yes, brown) fleece Roach vest all the time. I won it in a race at Vanier Park back in…1997? Those were the days. Before the Roach house, Ingrid used to have a work shop up near St. George's private school at about 28th and Camosun. Had a wild time at a kegger there. Back in the day, back in the day. Sure, bring it all back.

I was couriering in 1991 when Roach was first launched.
The Courier Bags were great / practical (FYI Ingrid was a courier)
she was making frame pads with a small "secret" pocket under the ROACH label where you could stash your cash / roaches.

Mine was full most days. I still have the original pad from 1992 (purple) in my basement.

I bought the Race Face Roach - knees and elbows recently - the Hard shell ones - i had been riding original soft shells for years. i don't like the hard shells as much since they don't protect the back of your leg and the velcro straps are too short to fit my calves - and I bought the large ones. the ankle strap is even too short - and I have never been told i have fat ankles.

Ingrid has a small shop that does custom work on the north shore- she is located on Esplanade near St Georges.

I still have fond memories of the Roach brand back in those days, I still ride a Roach Jersey, Roach shorts and both my kids are rockin roach jerseys too.

you can't kill a Roach

Just to further :deadhorse: I guess ROACH won't be resurrected w/the death of RaceFace. Too bad, I was REALLY wanting a new Jacket. :(

If the Roach brand name is liquidated with other assets one may be able to pick it up on the cheap and re-launch as a Canadian Made clothing option?

Hell, doesn't Ingrid still run a clothing shop? Maybe this is her chance to buy the brand name back?

If you are making items locally, to match demand, the huge overheads involved in making clothing go way down (as well as the cost of carrying items that do not prove popular).

Definitely viable on a small scale.

The old Roach armor was bullet proof. Sure would be nice if someone bought the name [HTML_REMOVED] started to produce apparel again.
