Reliable light DH fork?

I've been looking at getting myself a used dh ride, and I'm out of touch on what the scoop is.

I'd like an 8" dual crown fork.

Boxxers seem cheap, but used to be really high maintenance? Is this still true, or just WC models?
Fox40's now come in other colors they grey? what's the deal with them?

Does marzocchi make anything worth considering.
I'm thinking an 2008-2011 fork would be something I'd look at.

I'd like something light, reliable.
Technology for tuning/dialing forks seems to have come aong way
I'm around 170# if that matters

Pretty stoked on my Boxxer WC and at 6lbs it's pretty tough to beat.

Hey Simon you can't go wrong with a 888. I have the Ti and its awesome, I wish parts didn't age because nothing will replace it. Stoked you're looking at getting a big bike, what's your budget?

Depends how much I want to take out of a downpayment.

Probably around 1500 for my whole bike, so maybe 600 or so for a fork.

Right now, I'm probably going to end up with a sunday or demo

What year/model 888?

Also no doubt WC are light weight always have been, what about maintenance and reliability

I've been really impressed with my dorado. Might be worth taking a look at. The Marzocchi would be tuff to beat for price, performance and service interval.

I've got an '06 888RC2X I'd be willing to let go cheap.

do you mean reliable like 'never service it and expect it to run forever' or like 'regular maintenance keeps it running good'?

Marzocchi Super-T

2008 RockShox Boxxer World Cup

This trip to Kelowna was definately an undertaking - Liam and I had been planning this project for 24 hours. We worked really hard to pull out all the stops in this video. We had slo-mo goggle shots; time lapses; pedal flips; outrageous product shots; unloading and loading the bike; walking through the field with your hand in wheat. At the end of the day this trip was all about just getting out and riding with all my friends.

I have this for sale:

http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1222720/

Bought it off a local pro. The Marz guys built it for him.

Im going to pony up for the 2013.

Marz had manufacturing issues in 2008 with the lowers so just watch out for that…..

Service it once a year? Not have to rebuild it every two months.

Looks like one of the potential bikes I'm buying has a 2007 boxxer team. Don't know much about it as far as weight and ride quality
