hey, i just got a 2005 sherman flick and it comes with 6" but i dont really need or want the extra inch. Is there any way its possiable to reduce the travel down to 5" or 4"? I remember a thread from a while ago about reducing the travel but would that still work for the 2005 forks? thanks alot

they arent 6 inches of travel, they r 6 inch stantions but they have 5 inches of travel. it is like this so when u bottom out, the reverse arch does not hit ur downtube.

Hmm… the guy has the fork sitting at his home, and it clearly says on the fork that it has 6" of travel. Unless Bikeroom sent him some Manitou Sherman knock-off, I think the guy is right. Just believe him already…

As far as reducing the travel goes, I wouldn't suggest doing so. If you're talking about BoyBoy's Sherman travel reduction modification, his Sherman got busted not too long after he made the mod. A lot of people who've ridden the Z150, another 6" SC fork, claim that it the additional height over a 5" fork isn't that noticeable. Have you tried riding the fork yet? Perhaps it's not as high as you think it will be, and you just may like the ride.

If you're completely against a 6" SC fork, then get a refund from Bikeroom and look for a pre-2005 Sherman or reconsider your options. That sucks about your situation.

yea its defiently 6" almost all of the 04's are sold out everywhere already so the 05's are coming out right now. No i havent tried riding it but i just am thinking that it might be a bit much for a bike thats gonna be used for street and DJ mainly.
