I'm looking to have some wheels buit up in the New Year for now I'm just buying parts. The shop last shop I had build wheels for me has closed. Who builds a good wheel in Victoria or thereabouts?

Goldstream Ave. Bikes did a good job on my wheels.
I recommend Jerry at Strait-Up cycle, Lorien at Sooke Cycle and Joe at Northpark Cycle. All three people are awesome and built the best wheels in town.

The guys at Riders cycle know their road bikes, the old mech, steve builds amazing wheels, very meticulous. Also they can cut and thread custom length spokes, talk to Scotty he's an awsome rider and treats me well.

My build will likely be as follows:
Campagnolo Record hubs (32 hole)
DT 14/17 Spokes laced 3X front, Radial/3X rear
Mavic Open Pro CD rims

You might want to consider a stronger spoke for the rear drive side spokes. That's the way I build my wheels, but see what your builder says.

I'm gonna go full 32 frnt and rear. Weight isn't that much greater vs 20 spokes per wheel and a hell of a lot stronger.

if u want a road wheel build up i would recomend dale from experience he makes realy realy strong wheels i get him to do all my wheel work he does an awesome job and its a good price give him a call the shop is in duncan but tis worth the drive

Check this out… The WH-R560. It's the 550's replacement for the 2006 model year. $188 + 60 shipping from Singapore, and the seller has a very good feedback history. In these photos it looks a LOT like the dura ace wheelsets! More trickle-down technology… 10 speed D/A to Ultegra, and now we have 10-speed 105 :)
