Put a 32 W/N on Monday for the Enduro. Chain dropped on TOTW on the way to the first stage yesterday, good the rest of the week of park and trails. Mojo HD with XTR+ derailleur, no chain guide, only bash.
Race Face 30 tooth w/n
It took the ring out to Fromme for the first time, hitting some reasonably rough stuff (Lower Oil Can - the bottom where it goes down that fall-line, chundery skid road). No dropped chains. So far so good. My chain is probably a bit long and I do notice some chain slap noise when in the smaller cogs (more than when I was running an MRP 2x guide with lower pulley), but it's very quiet in the larger cogs.
My setup: 150 mm Cannondale Jekyll, 11-36 XTR cassette and XT Shadow+ mid cage derailleur, KMC X-10SL Chain with a couple too many links.
I think Race Face is already pretty much sold out of 30 tooths already. Only 1 or 2 colours left.
$500 cassette; no thanks. i was thinking that shimano needs to respond with a wide range cassette to avoid bleeding sales to sram - then pb posts a pic of graves running a big cog (~42) cassette for the whistler enduro - the article which has now mysteriously been pulled. hmmm… a (reasonably priced) 10 spd wide range w/ 11t cog (that slides on to a standard freehub) would absolutely kill it w/ aftermarket sales. i love my 1x10 no guide setup; still flawless - i could just use a larger bailout cog. hoping this makes it into production sooner than later.
ah, here. looks like he's running ghetto tubeless, too. huh.

Based on the cutouts in the cassette, that looks a lot like a General Lee adapter.
ya looks like it

just installed my 30T, we'll see how this goes. i'm encouraged by what everyone else is saying
Just did CBC-Pingu-Pangor. Chain stayed on.
I'm pretty sure the 6X6 or smaller are the majority now, and EVERY single one us are waiting for an 11X40 ten speed cassette to go with a W/N single. WTF Shimano, there is a gold mine just sitting there.
^^nailed it
For sure and thumbs up to a 11x40 cassette,
In the meantime a local Co. Should bang off an improved version of the General Lee Adapter

good eye - it does, indeed. explains pb pulling the article that claimed it to be a proto bit of shimano kit.
top guide and taco for Adam Craig on the sram bits
I have been riding naked on my Surface with a NSB Single for XO, and XO rear type 2 for over a month now. I have not dropped a chain once, not on CBC, Ladies, Tall Cans Neds or Pangor. I think that the right height of teeth plus the clutch derailleur is key. I am sold on 1x10, but the RF rings do look nice.
