so doing a frame swap here wondering if probability of creak free would be enhanced by installing new as opposed to removing bb from old frame (both bb/frame virtually new) and installing into new frame.

Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.

I think my shop uses Teflon tape? Does that sound right to anyone?

In any case, press it, ride it through the bad season if it creaks, ignore it and put a new one in once things dry out.

Teflon tape would only be useful on a threaded application. I cannot see how it would work with press fit. I think it comes down to how tight the tolerances are between your frame and your BB. On my latest build, I have a CK pressfit BB into a carbon frame, and I havent heard a peep from it in three seasons. No retaining compound used, just a tiny bit of grease.

The retaining compound is a good idea if you are having creaking issues. Park tool even makes one specifically for this. You could also use some other brand that serves the same purpose.
