Anyone got a definitive list of fork manufacturers and models expected in 650B?

Prepare for the 650b Wheel-Size Revolution
Every couple years there seems to be a jump in model spec for the same msrp as the previous model. Bikes get better, but the models basically cost the same year on year. Partly marketing (price elasticity) partly hype, and partly trickle down tech.
I say bring on the 650b, 700c, whatever size and models THEY want. The 26er may become less expensive.
People who make bikes and components, for the most part like riding bikes. New stuff that works better is good.
There is no massive conspiracy to force us to buy new stuff.
I rode a 650b equiped rocky mountain element carbon (26er) in the 90RSL build kit but with the MSL 120mm link and shock. Took it out for two mellow XC rides and must say that on the Rocky having the 27.5 wheels definitely made it more fun. Likely because the chain stays felt shorter with the big wheels stuffed in there. The bike hopped and pumped and was much more lively with the big wheels on there. That said I haven't ridden 2.1" tires in a long while so I can't comment on traction since my regular ride has 29x2.35 Hans Dampfs. As for WHY DO WE NEED 650B, I say bring it on. Bike shops can make some money off of early adopters and for everyone else there's just more options.

It's also hard to imagine that certain 26" rim/tire combinations wouldn't get into 650b outer diameter territory.

That seems to be the issue with running 650b on standard frame/forks. Such a small tire that a 26 with large volume tire is the same size.

The guy running a fast pinner 2.1 likely doesn't want to be running a 2.4 boat anchor just to get the same outer diameter.
Yes a bloated 2.4 26 tire is about the same as a 2.1 650b but this isn't comparing apples to apples.

This. A 2.35 650b setup is very different than the 2.35 26" setup.

I'm amazed at how many people (if pinkbike; children) have thousands of dollars just sitting around waiting for "their" perfect bike, component, whatever, to be manufacuted and sold. Like our choices are sooo limited!

still only 1/2" difference in radius. even with the identical cross section of tire, i have a hard time believing the 650 would provide appreciable performance gains. just conjecturin' w/ no empirical data, of course…
