possible new bikes

After being more or less completely out of the biking loop since my last ride (in the fall - it's sad I know), I'm beginning to look at some different bikes which I could possibly buy at the end of the summer (providing I don't buy a truck).

Right now I'm riding a 2001 BigHit Comp, more or less stock except tires and cockpit. Before I fell out of the loop, I was really into bb7s, and I still am, however I'm just wondering if there are some other cool new bikes similar to that. For example, one of my friends is currently deciding between the Turner DHR and the Canfield Forumula 1, both of which I like, although I think I prefer the bb7.

Suggest away!

Thanks,
Cam

for your bike, the BB7 is a nice frame for sure, but there are some uncertainties with the company in the near future in my understanding. I also like the turner dhr and you might want to check the norco team DH. If you have cash though, I would say go with the demo 9 :thepimp:

For more freeriding frames, the Vpfree looks like a solid bike and I wouldn't mind riding one of those. Also, the Banshee scream and chaparral might be a good way to go.

I guess it would be good to know what kind of riding you want to focus on to help eliminate some choices.

why not just upgrade the big hit? the comp is still a pretty sweet bike. just throw some sherman sliders on there and you're set.

It happens to be like:

"Drowned by the ocean"
"Shot by his own son"
"She used the poison in his tea
and kissed him goodbye"
That's my kind of story
It's no fun til someone dies

Yeah, my bike isn't really floating my boat anymore though, and its kinda run down: I think it'd be a pretty severe expenditure to get it where I want it. Besides, I've got major GAS (gear acquisition syndrom), and I'll be working almost the whole summer (so I dunno, maybe $3000ish?). A friend of mine is going to be getting a bb7, so I'll ride his when he takes delivery.

I'll look into the vp-free, foes, etc.

Thanks for the input,
Cam

The BB7 is a great DH bike…..but it has issues when ridden just about anything else, the wheelbase growth is the biggest issue for freeriding. That and the company is….well……experiencing technical difficulties. Its too bad, a good Canadian company that makes great bikes…..
