Seems like only Orbea/Norco have long enough f/c to use short stems?

Looks like the reach on the Torrent is 5mm longer then an equivilently sized Sight, so you could definitely put a shorter stem then the stock one, although it is a relatively decent "agressive" cockpit with a 55mm stem/780mm bars. (according to their website)

Fun.

I've been considering getting one of these as a winter bike this year (as if that wasn't obvious) I just need to try the bike before actually going the next mile.

What's it weigh, man.

I think for me to adopt someone gonna' have to release a tyre that's lost the blackwall paired to wide light carbon rims. Probably carbon frame too but the rotating weight on those things make me balk.

Not 100% sure. Don't really care, it's not noticeable unless you're trying to XC race.

I can't imagine a bike like that weighing more then around 30-32lbs. Which is around the point where I don't know if I care

I'll try and weigh it soon but I'm guessing 32lbs is pretty close plus or minus a few ounces:)

I'll weigh it to confirm. Doesn't feel heavy at all.

Thanks but….no I'll stick to my Stiffee thanks.

The raw, primitive, unrefined trails that see little to no maintenance are the kinds of trails that really build skill. What kind of skills do you learn riding a trail that was made by a machine, groomed to perfection and void of any rocks, roots or other obstacles that could send you careening over the handlebars?

No

they will be great for hipsters with low bike skills.

loaded with internet fed knowledge to claim is the next big thing.is.

i'm going to go ahead and guess you've all dismissed these things without trying them. gotta side with the king on this: plus size wheels on hardtails are a :censored: blast. if you're committed to keeping a closed mind, the choice is yours. but if you enjoy having fun on a bike, you really should check one out

I gotta say, it took me about 30 seconds on one to realize the fun potential. It's a different ride and a hell of a lot of fun.

If I was building up a hardtail, 27.5+ would be the ticket… makes a lot of sense.
