I don't know what's worse, the question or the ones that answer no.

ya for biopace! Had that shiz on an old road bike of mine. You had to really time your shift to the lower gear but it felt good when spinning.

I'd try an on a 1x system for curiosity sake.

why is the bike industry seemingly the only one in the world that keeps trying to bring back shit that didn't work the first time?

And then there is the other side of the coin… I have an elliptical W/N ring on my enduro bike. It turns out I do climb better with this setup over my previous round N/W ring. Maybe its just a placebo effect but it seems to work for me.

Are you on 650b or a 29r? Along w this biopace? Next you will want it in carbon fibre as well…. Chu ching goes the industry. 2 yrs ago i had let construction jobs and injuries keep me off the bike and i got fat and slow.. This year i rode 3000km im still slow.. My point being is….ride yer bike. If those new rings improve yer strava times well then screw it i need some too…

It's typical that the one person who has been making these rings (orientated correctly….) for 25 yrs has now stopped production. I used to orientate Biopace rings to get a higher gear on the power part of the stroke BITD, but it felt nice to go back to round rings in the end. Nonetheless, some of Highpath's rings could arguably be a work of art:

A pretty wild version here, with pedals to match:

….And now there's just a bunch of copy-cats charging hilarious prices to realtors ;-)

Did you even read the question? Why would you say no? Seriously, that question is retarded.

I'd vote 'no' based on using oval rings for a couple of years and not really liking the biomechanics. They'd more suit a Jan Ulrich type style, Vs a Lance Armstrong.

Many things in cycling might be 'better' (plastic enduro bikes) but that doesn't mean we all have to be sheep. The fact that some people make purchases based on emotion, taste, humour etc means there is still the possibility to buy something different in this marketing led industry. Maybe my next bike will be a 29er hardtail, but with a Hannebrink fat bike front end…..

I've never ridden them but they make a lot of sense for MTB'ing. I've got the Rotor QX1 ring
on order.

Nice… I think you'll notice a difference.

I'm pretty sure you feel the difference because you switched from a W/N to a N/W! The N/W are so much more efficient. ;)
