well i'm learing now to do barspins now so i'm thinking about getting a longer travel single crown for my 4by insted of a DC. the 3" dj1 just isnt enuf. i plan to do a lot of shore riding on this bike, cypress, fromme(air supply alot, trail gap, ect), and a lot of eagle. and some bike parks in the summer. would a pike hold up, does it have enuf travel, is it big enuf to ride cypress.

i am a big guy and and the pike is amazing, the 3- 5 adjustment is one of the best features imo, it is responsive, and absorbs stuff really well overall i would say it is the best fork i have ever owned

i'd get the pike but i hear of clearance issues with 4bys and pikes…if you had to choose another fork id say: firefly/flick, Z1, 66 or a travis 6"

bikes:
04 norco 4by w/ 05 sherman firefly :(
07 KTM 144sx :)

I like to throw up prior to dropping into a-line. I find it makes jumping easier.

Well the Z150 is strong, and its 6 inches of travel. Cartrige dampened. It can soak up the bigger hits but its not too heavy.

I have an 3-5in 03 Firefly on my Enduro SX. These ones have TPC and ti spring 4.5lbs. Super stiff and fun fork. I ride it Fromme, eagle, cypress. Even at Sun Peaks for a weekend. awesome fork..

Is there a Vancouver in Taiwan?! I had no idea!!

I actually like my 04 Firefly a lot, and it has SPV. Its possibly the best feeling SC I have tried.

I had a Z150 on my Coiler, and it was a perfect match. Very good damping, stiff, and it ramps up really well. Not heavy at all for a fork with steel stanchions/steertube.

i thinka pike would be a great choice for a fork because it is really easily adjustable and feels great. it is also very strong and light.

I'm kinda sorry I sold my Z150. Great fork.

The pike is an awesome fork, i've had mine for 2 years with no problems, on a 4 by it would be a great match. Much better value for the adjustments, weight, damping than anything else out there, but it's more of an all mountain fork than freeride being that it's a lower axle to crown height, and it wouldn't be as stiff as a marzocchi 66, but for what it's meant for it's the best machine for the job. For a freeride fork i can't wait to see rock shox 2007 line up!
