PIKE or Z1

I am looking to upgrade my Flow 24 with a new fork. I'll be using it for FR and some DJ . I weigh 140lbs and am a fairly smooth rider. I've been looking at both these forks. I've had Marzocchi's before and have loved the feel of the HSCV cartridge but am interested in the weight, and adjustability of the PIKE. I've never ridden one but have heard great things. Any suggestions would be great.

Oh. I'd be looking at the 2004 Z1 with 5 inches and thru axle vs. the PIKE Race with the steel steer tube and top mounted motion control adjust. They'll both be around the same price, with the PIKE being a bit cheaper, but not by much.

Pike is made by rockshock right? Well I know that marzocchi make good solid forks and they ride well, but are on the very heavy side. I beleive that rockshock make their forks lighter but I have no personal experience so…

I say PIke! i own pike race and its awesome =) ull love it once u get it. its light, strong and just tiny bit more travel. btw i dont really get motion control damping… and also.. compression adjuster, does it still work when u dont lock ur fork? or is it necessary to have it locked in order to play with compression.?

Z1 FR. It doesn't weight much more than a Pike (maybe 1/2 lbs), it's proven, it's strong, and it feels like butter.

Yeah. Marzocchi do feel amazing.

But the adjustements aren't as invovled.

Pike is a way better fork and from what I've seen of them over here they aren't breaking or leaking or doing any other things that Rock Shox used to do!

totally go with the pike!
even with adjustments aside, the pike is both very plush and repsonsive and a great, reliable fork

go with the pike all the way - :)

I'm hoping it didn't take him 2 years to decide.

Just because I like boys doesn't mean I want to go out with Mike.
