Pannier rack - hard tail with no mounts?

Are there any good pannier racks that will stand up to many miles travel? The catch is my bike doesn't have mount points.

there are ones that trap on to the chainstays. don't know much about them. these ones, by freeloader:

i have an old man mountain on my kona unit 29. had it for years, does great. mine is for road bikes, so i have clearance issues with real mtb tires. but there are many options when you buy.

For the upper mounting points, you can change the seat post clamp to a model with mounting points.

The Old Man Mountain racks have performed admirably on our Iditarod builds, but they're kind of kludgy-looking for the money. I'm a big Tubus fan; the QR Adapter kit in conjunction with a Salsa Rack-Lock seat collar will be a clean and effective solution.

Revelate Designs makes a Mariachi-specific frame bag that gives a lot more breathing room on narrow singletrack than a set of panniers, with more secure attachment when the going gets rough and bumpy.

How do you find the single ring commuter? I'm running 30T NW with a 11-36T and 29" wheels for trail, but was planning on setting up a front derailleur and three rings for touring, but just realized I could put on a 38T NW ring instead.

Will be road riding for a month on flatland, trying to keep up with a cyclocross bike.

I use them, but P-clips slide.

I've stopped the slide by using SS hose clamps below the P-clips.

old pic, i'm back to a 3 ring. but there were no issues, that ring is a surly stainless steel 36t with the deep teeth, so 9sp 36x11-34. no dropping the chain or anything like that. but as for speed, i definitely don't race when commuting, but felt pretty good, i ran out of gears on my brief downhill, but that was it.
