Options for New 26" Trail Bikes?

Looking for a new dual suspension rig, somewhere around the 5 inch travel range. I do most of my riding on the island with trips to Squamish and the Shore.

Currently riding a 6.5/6" 35 pounder. Any newer bike is going to be lighter and faster so I'm not too concerned about weight, 32 pounds is light to me.

Current favourites are the Transition Bandit and the Banshee Spitfire, although the Spitfire seems a bit pricey. Will convert to a 1x10 drivetrain.

The Bandit is pretty damn good. I love mine. 130mm travel, sub 29lbs

Banshee slashed the prices of the previous-gen Spitfire since the new one came out. If you don't mind keeping a close eye on the pivots, it's a great frame…excellent geo and quite light.

+1 on the Spitfire. I changed my bushings to their latested version, and had zero issues.

I built up an Intense Carbine a few days ago in 26" mode, with the option to go 27.5" in the future… best of both worlds.

haha holy rob, that is awesome…I was talking to mark about that or tracer vs spitfire. Do the new tracers do the same thing? All I see on the intense site is tracer 275

Banshee Spitfire - and forget about the 26 vs. 650B Craze. Ride the Wheelsize you like!

Banshee uses 7000 series aluminum on their frames, with internal gussets the rear end stays, stiffer and stronger than the 6000 series stuff you are comparing to (read: more expensive manufacturing materials). You can get a new Spitfire frame for about $1850 Cad, with a X-Fusion rear shock option, they also offer the Float CTD and the CCDB Air with the Climb Switch, so you have lots of options available to you.
