The armchair engineer in me says: Those lower shock tab bolts on the Reeb aren't in shear unless they have begun to or are in the process of rattling loose. With machined faces on the lower "tube" and the tabs there should be lots of well aligned faying area. Bolt size shouldn't be a problem there.

Ok, as I said...I do not even consider myself an armchair engineer....basically I should ask a few people who studied stuff like that.
But then....bike history is filled with cracked frames and torn equipment, not sure about any other frame failures apart from a few Pole frames and the Slayer frame....all read and seen on PB.
