Anybody know what the last year of production for Syncros Pro Ti posts was? Wondering how many years mine had before it reached its fatigue limit. I know I rode it for 11 years with 3 different frames.

Syncros

I got lucky though--it failed 2/3 of the way through an easy 15km "recovery ride" on Monday night. If it had failed a day earlier, I could have been utterly miserable low-posting a portion of a 67km ride.

I wish I had a more spectacular reason for the failure--I came off a log-over on flat trail awkwardly and sat down on it a little too hard. I guess a log-over is an appropriately 90s finishing move though.

Time to move on to a dropper, but I'm going to miss the little bit of give of the 27.2 Ti...

That looks like an aluminum one to me, I remember the Ti ones being silver.

The aluminum ones were black. I broke two and got a titanium one which was bare titanium. The photo looks a little black but it’s actually titanium on my screen. And at the failure the tube is too thin for aluminum. Syncros might have made clear anodized aluminum too. I don’t remember seeing any though.

Hey, you’re right!  I thought that was black.

It is grey, it's just reflecting the darkness of the world that surrounds it...

Is this the start of a new poetry thread to replace to old Vassago one?

When it comes to poetry, I can only quote, I’m not going to I embarrass myself by attempting to create.

Although I probably dated myself with that particular quote...

I shoulda known better, all the broken aluminum ones I saw were from the shaft splitting at the head.
