I dunno. I sure love my new school geo bikes. But I started in the early '90's. I had a 20" Asama Rockline with a 140mm Alsop suspension stem. Somehow I managed to ride up Old Buck and down Ned's Atomic Dustbin just fine. I remember when V-brakes came out how much of an advantage it gave. And then my Judy. I might still have my Judy butter around somewhere.
All this talk is funny. I am so nostalgic about my '92 VW GTI too. It was low and fast and fun. But seriously, it was a POS compared to my '08 135i. Technology moves us all along.
